Persistence

To me, persistence means never giving up. I think this particular quality is an important part of learning at DRSS because the scientific method’s middle steps of research, hypothesis, experimenting, and analyzing all take a long time just as some of our projects do. Succeeding requires persistent effort despite bumps in the road and otherwise tough terrain.  One project that shows my growth in this area was the jump rope endeavor. The jump rope endeavor involved making up a jump rope routine with a partner based on jump rope exercises we had previously completed. Despite how difficult I initially found this particular project, I stuck with it, with help from my partner, without giving up and finally mastered our routine.
