Transition to 10th Grade
My performance in 9th grade was really strong and I put all of my effort into the endeavor; this has prepared me for 10th grade. After reflecting on my 9th grade year, I have written a five-paragraph reflective essay that discusses aspects of three of my classes and proves my readiness for the 10th grade.
My 9th-Grade Self
When I started my ninth-grade year back in August, I was determined, but still a little immature; I had no experience with what I was dealing with, but I knew the importance of this year in high school. If I messed it up, then it would be really hard to mend my transcript. Now this has changed, and I know fully well what challenges the ninth-grade has in store. For example, we had to learn how to argue a case in an argumentative essay, and analyze the evidence to look for information to help us argue our case. Some projects were not as serious; I learned that it is good to have fun with a project. Like for example, the WWII News Cast Project. Doing a project that requires a lot of work like that can be draining, and having a little fun with it can make it feel less like a burden and actually improve the final product. I believe that I am ready to face the rigors of tenth-grade, because the ninth-grade has shaped me into a more mature, hardworking student than I knew I ever was or could be.
My 10th-Grade Readiness
If I had to name one quality I relied on most throughout this school year, I would say persistence. All those countless nights I stayed up working on work, persisting through the hard tasks that laid ahead of me had prepared me to face the trails of tenth-grade. For example, with the Car Assembly Project, while my partner slept, I had to stay up working into the night so that I might be able to save us both from a terrible fate. It is this kind of determination to do well that prepares one for such a transition from ninth-grade to tenth-grade. While this year I may have set up the kind of high school transcript that I want, that does not mean I can slack off in tenth-grade. I still need to keep working to make sure my high school transcript stays in good shape for it is the key to my future right now. I hope to accomplish getting grades that are worthy of recognition, grades that could get me into the honors society. If I manage to actually accomplish these wild dreams, then the possibilities from there are endless.
